Suite101 attended an afternoon press session with a few of the finalists of season 5 So You Think You Can Dance and then settled down in an 8th row seat among a packed crowd of dance lovers. Much of the rest of the row was filled with the family of a show set designer, each one coveting their slickly produced program book while awaiting the start of the show.
Introductions of SYTYCD Finalists
Before the show began, a filmed excerpt showed some of the eliminated hopefuls who clearly had no business attending auditions and then the dancers appeared to wild applause. Intros of each finalist followed, including an announcement of their home state.
The top ten include Season 5 champion Jeanine Mason, runner-up Brandon Bryant, followed by Evan Kasprzak , Kayla Radomski, Ade Obayomi, Melissa Sandvig, Jason Glover, Janette Manrara, Kupono Aweau, Randi Evans. They are joined on the tour by special guests Caitlin Kinney and Phillip Chbeeb.
